Border collies are not only super cute, but they are also one of the smartest dog breeds out there! A border collie is a true working dog that excels in sheep herding. Since they are designed for sheep herding, they are known to have a “herding eye,” which is essentially an intense gaze that they use to stare down and herd other animals. This sharp focus and athleticism that is needed for sheep herding makes these dogs super smart and agile!

2. German Shepherd

German shepherds are commonly used as police dogs and service dogs, partly because they are so loyal, courageous, and smart! This dog knows how to protect its owner and the ones it loves most, making it an amazing family dog.

3. Poodle

Poodles possess a really high intelligence, are obedient, and are super easy to train! They can be trained to track, hunt, retrieve, obey, and more.
