National Dog Day is about celebrating our four-legged friends who not only give us love and happiness but have been of service throughout our daily lives. Whether it is a service dog, search and rescue dogs, emotional support dogs– the list is endless in their selfless service to keep us safe and provide support. National Dog Day also encourages adoption by giving dogs an opportunity at a forever home and rescuing them from euthanization. You can pay tribute to these amazing animals, mixed and pure for all the good they have done throughout our history and society. Celebrate your beloved companion by treating them to a nice meal or dessert at some of your favorite restaurants as a thank you for their unconditional love!
In-N-Out
What dog doesn’t love a burger? In-N-Out offers a pup patty for your furry friend that is unseasoned and won’t upset their tummies! However, you must go through the drive-thru to order one, but overall a great option to celebrate your beloved companion!
Chic-Fil-A
Whether it’s National Dog Day or not, you can always treat your dog to a Chic-Fil-A dog treat. Be sure to ask in advance because it may not be offered at all locations.
Starbucks
Celebrate your dog for some dessert! It is no secret Starbucks caters to our four-legged friends. Starbucks (on request) will offer your dog a puppuccino, which is a small cup of whipped cream, loved by many dogs!
Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar
Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar is well-known for its open arms towards dogs. Not only is the word ‘dog’ incorporated in the name, but they also have a patio section dedicated to our furry friends offering dog-safe menu items. Your dog will definitely feel celebrated having a grilled hamburger patty or grilled chicken breast with a side of brown rice.
Shake Shack
With locations all over the U.S., you can treat your dog to a Pooch-ini, which is a dog biscuit with vanilla custard, good for larger dogs. Another option may be the Bag O’Bones, which includes 5 dog biscuits! Your dog will surely feel loved and celebrated with these delicious desserts!
While there are many chain restaurants that offer options for our furry friends, be sure to check out your local Ma and Pop restaurants as well! Let’s celebrate our dogs today and every day!
