The Importance of Walking Your Dog Everyday

Humans can come up with tons of reasons why they can’t find time to exercise.

  • “I’m too tired”
  • “It is raining today”
  • “I am feeling sick”
  • “I’m too busy”
  • “It is cold outside”
  • “It is too hot today!”

No worries, I’ve done some research and learned that there are two factors that effectively can help humans achieve a change in behavior.

  • The motivation – reason for that change
  • An accountability system

When you think about “your daily walks”, don’t think about them as if you are going for a walk. Think of them as your dog’s walks. “You will be taking your dog for a walk”. Make a commitment to walk your four-legged friend for 10-minutes every day.

Now that you are committed to take your dog for daily short walks, you need to make that commitment public. Telling yourself and your dog about this goal is not enough. You need to tell everybody you know of this great challenge. All of your friends should know that around 6:30AM-6:45AM or 7AM- 7:15AM (whatever time you decide) YOU are taking Fluffy for a walk. Also, block 10-15 minutes to walk Fluffy in the afternoon or night (either after dinner or before you go to sleep).

Are you ready to commit? Post your goal on your FB or Instagram account and make it public. Dare your friends to hold you accountable to this goal. We would love to hear the changes you experience with your daily dog walks. Feel free to share with us your amazing adventures.
