The leaves are changing, the temperature is dropping, and there is no better reason (or season) to try new activities with your pup! Fall is the perfect season to spend time outside with your pup, without the concern of dehydration or heatstroke. Here are 5 ways to spend the Fall with your pup!
Go for a Hike
The best time to take a hike with your pup is during the Fall. With the lower temperatures, both you and your pup will be able to go on longer hikes. Many trails this time of year will be bursting with beautiful, vibrant fall colors, while some may already be under a foot of snow. But the unpredictable weather changes, make sure to check out the weather where the trail is before you go!
Visit a Pet-Friendly Apple Orchard or Pumpkin Patch
Fall brings with it more than just cooler temperatures. The season offers new activities such as visiting local apple orchards or pumpkin patches. Almost all of these are pet-friendly, creating a great outdoor activity to do with your pup. Most of these patches will also let your dogs roam around freely, giving them endless opportunities to sniff new things, and we know pups love to use their noses! But don’t forget, make sure to call ahead to confirm that it’s pet-friendly!
Go on a Weekend Trip
With the fun summer days behind us, we all need a little pick-me-up during the fall season. Fall isn’t a popular traveling season, making more hotels, motels, inns, and campgrounds available and cheaper. But, make sure to jump on the opportunity before the holiday rush comes!
Make Leaf Piles
Channel your inner child, and rake up a giant pile of leaves for your pup to play in! This is a safe and fun way of entertaining your pup during the fall season. It’s also a great way to make the most of the endless supply of leaves that fall during this time!
Pumpkin Carving
When you’re done with your orchard or pumpkin patch trip, break out the pumpkin-carving supplies! Try your hand at carving a pumpkin inspired by your pup! Then, feed your little one the leftover scraps from your carvings, as pumpkin is a great source of fiber and nutrients for pups!
