When packing for your dog, you should pack as carefully as you do for yourself. To make things easier for you, here is a checklist of essentials that should be included in Fluffly’s bag.
🐾 Collar with updated license and ID tag. ID tag should include your mobile number. Take a look at our previous post where we share our favorite collar suggestions.
🐾 Car harness and seat belt. There is a big difference between a regular harness and a car harness. A car harness is specifically designed to protect your puppy in case of an accident. The best brands are crash tested. The harness should be attached to a seat belt that secures your dog to a safety belt.
🐾 Two leashes – These are my favorite leashes!
🐾 Collapsible bowls – I don’t go anywhere without it!
🐾 Food supply. Include enough food for one or two extra days.
🐾 Bottled water
🐾 Healthy treats
🐾 Rawhides or chew toy
🐾 Medications and any additional prescription refills you may need
🐾 Health certificate. The certificate should reflect current vaccinations.
🐾 Name and phone number of a local veterinarian
🐾 Blanket. To place over the hotel’s bedding.
🐾 Favorite toys
🐾 Grooming supplies: Soft brush, nail clippers and shampoo.
🐾 Cloth towels
🐾 Paper towels
🐾 Plenty of plastics bags or scooper
🐾 Carpet deodorizer
🐾 Carrier or crate. Having a good-quality crate is extremely important. It will provide your dog a safe place to stay when confinement is needed, whether you are staying at a hotel, luxury resort or campsite. Before your trip, ensure you acclimate your dog to the crate. So, she/he views the crate as a comfortable, pleasant place for him. The crate will allow you prevent your pet from escaping from the room or at night if you are camping in the open. If you prefer a carrier, it is best to choose a crash-tested carrier. When selecting a crate, ensure that it is large enough to allow your dog to turn while standing. So, he/she can have full range of normal movement while standing or lying down.
Optional accessories:
🐾 Reflective flotation device if you plan to go on the water.
🐾 Paw wear for hiking such as hiking pack and grip boots to protect your dog’s paws from harsh, rocky terrain.
With this packing list, your fluffy friend will be all set for the perfect adventure!
