Thanksgiving is one of the most loving times to celebrate family, friends, and, of course, your furry friend, but it can also be a dangerous holiday. With all the delicious food that’s prepared for a large family feast, you must remember that there are foods your dog can’t eat. Guests who aren’t aware of your dog’s diet and other food restrictions need to understand the rules before going into Thanksgiving dinner.
Dogs can’t eat the same dishes that we love and crave without risking some side effects. Tell your guests that you already have a special Thanksgiving dinner planned for your dog, so there is no need to share their food. On the day of Thanksgiving, ensure that your dog stays clear of grapes/raisins, chocolate, stuffing, and turkey bones.
Although dogs can’t eat the same foods as us, you can still make Thanksgiving special by making them their own puppy-friendly Thanksgiving dinner. This doesn’t require a lot of prep and can be a fun way to get your dog involved in the Thanksgiving fun. For example, make your pup a turkey and vegetable loaf for dinner and pumpkin treats for dessert!
