Dog treats are a great way to reward your puppy, especially when she or he is learning a new task. Treats can motivate your dog to engage in the training. To get your dog engaged using treats that your dog loves is key. We refer to those treats that your dog LOVES, “high-value” treats. In other words, high-value treats would be those treats that make your dog eager to work for you.
🐾 High-quality ingredients are essential. When it comes to treats for my dogs, high-quality ingredients are crucial. When Stanley was one year old, we gave him a dog treat that resulted in a severe inflammatory reaction in his intestines. He became extremely sick and ended having surgery due to that. After that painful lesson, we are cautious about what we give to our dogs.
While searching for healthy treats, I found Wesson’s Canine Bakery. Wesson’s Canine Bakery provides treats that not only are incredibly delicious to the taste but are all created with nutritional benefits in mind. All of their products are chemical free.
Hannah Barrick founded Wesson’s Canine Bakery. In 2015, Hannah ’s dog (Yorkshire Terrier) died due to the chemicals in a very popular dog treat. This event inspired Hannah to learn more about pet food and encouraged her to start Wesson’s Canine Bakery. Not only Wesson’s Canine Bakery is committed to providing high-quality treats, but they also offer products to improve your dog’s health. These include biscuits, paw balms, and chemical-free flea and tick spray. Below I share some of our favorites.
🐾 Albert’s favorite treats are the Breath treats. The Breath treats while delicious they contain natural antioxidants that fight the bad breath present in dogs. These treats are made with fresh and organic ingredients.
🐾 Stanley’s favorite biscuits are the Peanut Butter and Blueberry. These treats contain blueberries which are considered a superfood and peanut butter. Blueberries contain antioxidants (phytochemicals) that can help reduce blood pressure, improve vision, may protect against cancer and heart disease.
🐾 Emma’s favorite is the Apple biscuit. Apples are high in fiber, vitamin C and various antioxidants. Vitamin C is an essential dietary nutrient that has many vital functions in the body. Also, the primary mineral in apples is potassium. High intake of potassium may have beneficial effects on heart health.
I have to warn you that the aroma of these biscuits is irresistible. Stanley can’t contain his happiness when he is close to one of these biscuits. For our dogs, these are high-value treats.
🐾 Keila’s favorite. One of my favorite products is the Paw balm. If your dog has rough, dry feet or elbow calluses, you can use the paw balm to help heal their feet and restore the skin. The paw balm can also protect against the ice in the winter and the heat of the asphalt. The balm is safe if your dog were to lick it off.
All the treats are grain free and made from all natural, organic ingredients. These treats are not only yummy for dogs but also provide them with nutritional value to their daily health.
